Fall 2017 around Reflection Lake

I know, I know. Where have you been the past few months Dave? Well, I took the summer off. Literally! I quit my job back in April. After seven years and a major argument with my boss's boss, I had enough. I said "Let's call it a day", handed him my laptop and cell phone and headed home. I got a call from what was my competitor on the way home for an interview. What a day!

I got to spend more time with my pups, camping in the RV, grandkid time, volunteer time and working around my house. It's been an awesome summer, but now fall is in full bloom and winter is on its way. I have a ton of photos to process and share, but for now here's what was done today.

The pups and I got up a little early and headed to our favorite coffee stand, Polar Bear Espresso. The dogs love the ladies there, get lots of puppy loving and treats and I get the best latte'. We were headed on a drive along Old Glenn Highway, but at the last minute I decided to go to Reflection Lake. It had rained last night and there was some heavy fog.

Well, this is actually Knik River where it meets Cook Inlet. We stopped here first. The fog was lifting but was still Vincent Price eerie.

 We listen and so did all of the other people who were walking their pups. It was nice to actually see people keeping them on leash when they were supposed to. There were plenty of poop bag stations along the trails also. 

 Fall is definitely in full swing.

 Anyone figured out why the call it Reflection Lake? There's a few common loons on the lake still. I didn't get any photos. Kind of hard when you got 3 beagles tagging along. I need to return with them, but don't tell.

Everyone complains about Christmas decorations being put out in stores a little early. Well Mother Nature decorated this tree a little early but it looks great.
