Take a moose to lunch

When there's snow on the ground and the temperatures get low, the moose come to town. Generally it's easier for the moose to walk around in urban areas because of plowed and shoveled areas. They can easily reach trees and bushes that are good to eat from.

Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon was their choice today. I usually eat inside, but they liked the berries from the Mt Ash trees lining the parking lot. The many birds that winter over in Anchorage will have to find another restaurant. These two picked the trees clean.

Both were of pretty fair size. The female stayed back some and was a little hidden by lamp post, cars, etc. For most of the attention they were getting, they were pretty mellow.

Their reach to get the berries at the top of the trees was impressive.

But after a bit, I got a look and a snort, so I figured it was time for me to leave.

Get her to the airport on time

My friend Nancy was in town from Fairbanks this weekend for a Audubon Alaska board meeting . I like it when she comes to visit because I get to play tour guide. We went to the Alaska Aviation Museum at Lake Hood.

Afterwards I had to get her to the airport on time. She was headed to Detroit for a strategic planning session with the National Association of Automobile Museums board of directors in Dearborn, MI. On second thought, I should have taken a faster vehicle.

I hope she got there OK.

Yep, she's a beagel!

Well it was 2 years on 10/31 that Macy came to live with me. I must say that was the best decision we made in a long, long time.

Above she's with her favorite toy, an owl. Go figure. I do education presentations with an owl and she prefers to play tug of war with one.

My friend Britt took this one. We escaped during my recovery to get some fresh air and scenery.

She always tips her bowl over when she eats. Why you ask? No one knows but her and she ain't saying.

Sometimes she works so hard she falls asleep sitting up.

She's a great listener, well, when there's not a good smell around. Good smells make her go deaf.

Britt took this one also. She calls it "Driving Miss Macy".

Macy doesn't like being left at home and makes it a point that you feel like a schmuck when you don't take her along.

Running through the daisy's.
Friends send me this all the time. Gotta love I!

Happy Doggiversary Macy!
