It's spring?

At least according to the calender it is. We're having daytime temperatures in the mid to upper 30's and night time temperatures in the teens. Some things are turning green, but there's no sign of flowers yet. The stores are getting ready for the gardening season though.

Young Mr Moose says it's a little chilly, but it doesn't bother him that he can see his breath. It was bothering him that I was interrupting his breakfast. Mr Eagle was watching me the whole time though. He was high enough to be enjoying the sunshine. He must of already had breakfast. I was drinking my mocha, eating a muffin and talking with a friend on the phone while watching these guys.

Anyone lose a shoe?

Don't ya wonder when you see a lone shoe like that or in the middle of the road...how in the world did someone lose ONE shoe? Too bad we don't have moose in PA...they sure are cool!

Great photos Dave :) It still sounds really cold there.
Love the photo of the young moose. We just saw a herd of wild elk in No. CA. There coats don't seem as heavy as the moose. Perhaps the climate difference?

Losing a shoe in your neck of the woods is a pretty major event. All I can say is it must have been one hell of a night of drinking!

So Dave, do the moose head back to the woods once spring arrives and everything starts greening up again? I would think they become much more difficult for people to notice alongside the roadways once the snowy background has disappeared, thereby increasing their chances of being hit by cars.

Susie - no Elk, but we do have carabou.

Owlman - One hell of a night of something.

Ruthiej - actually there are more car hits during summer because there are more people traveling during that time.
